I am a registered psychologist offering psychological treatment to adolescents and adults aged 13 years and over, with a special interest in working with adolescents and young adults. My areas of interest include eating disorders, PTSD, attachment trauma, avoidant attachment patterns, and internalising difficulties such as depression, low self-esteem, shame, and self-criticism. I also enjoy supporting individuals experiencing difficulties with emotional expression, vulnerability, and forming close relationships, particularly for boys and men.
My approach is relational, trauma-focused, and compassionate, drawing on therapies such as Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and EMDR. Rather than focusing solely on symptom relief, I aim to help you understand how your early experiences and relationships have shaped the way you relate to yourself and others. Together, we can explore the underlying causes of your difficulties, process painful experiences, and develop greater self-compassion, emotional safety, and confidence in yourself and your relationships.
Beau has a particular interest treating childhood and attachment-related trauma using EMDR and IFS. Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy used to reduce the emotional disturbance of traumatic memories that cause ongoing distress, nightmares, and somatic symptoms associated with trauma. Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a parts-based therapy that helps people understand and work with different parts of themselves, particularly those that developed to cope with difficult or painful experiences.
Beau provides therapy for clients experiencing restrictive eating, sensory difficulties related to food, body image concerns, and specific eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID).He has a particular interest in helping boys and men address their eating and body image issues, as well as individuals with medical conditions that affect eating, such as Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), coeliac disease, histamine intolerance, and other food intolerances.
Beau uses a neuro-affirming and strengths-based approach to support autistic and ADHD clients in navigating their sensory and communication differences, particularly those experiencing school/work-related stress and burnout, rejection sensitivity, and low self-esteem, with the aim to develop greater self-compassion, emotional resilience, and confidence in their neurodivergent identity.
Difficulties faced by boys and men are often misrepresented or misunderstood. Beau uses a practical and engaging approach to support boys and men with concerns such as body image, sexuality, low self-esteem, understanding emotions, and forming healthy relationships.
